Infrastructure Defense Technologies, LLC (IDT) is the manufacturer of METALITH, an engineered, purpose made prefabricated steel bin system which when assembled and filled with ballast within a trackway provides rigid structural internal fortification which prevents washout and erosion during flooding. Traditionally a military product which is deployed at US and allied bases worldwide IDT now brings this simple but highly effective product to the railroad market. METALITH is made from structural grade G-235 galvanized steel panels and Type 430 stainless steel connecting rods which are easily prepositioned at maintenance facilities and staging areas and then rapidly deployed in locations prone to washout or excessive erosion. Once METALITH has been installed under the trackway there is no maintenance required. The system has a service field life of 40+ years and a manufacturer’s warranty of 20 years and IDT provides engineering services to its clients prior to commencement of your project.
